The Culver Municipal Water Plant was funded through a $600,000 loan from the State Revolving Fund and a $500,000 grant from the Indiana Office of Community and Rural Affairs. It replaces a plant that was about 50 years old, which the town says had reached the end of its functional life. Town leaders say the new plant will provide a consistent source of safe water for Culver residents and utility customers.
Culver leaders officially opened the plant Saturday.
The town has invested more than $5 million over the last few years in infrastructure improvements. Projects include a new storm sewer system and a new water tower.
