Ogletree, Deakins, Nash, Smoak & Stewart P.C. has re-elected Charles Baldwin managing director. He is one of two managing directors who serve as members of the firm’s board of directors, and, along with the managing shareholder make up the Executive Committee, responsible for the strategic direction and daily affairs of the firm. Baldwin has served in this role since 2014. He has held numerous leadership roles since joining the firm in 2000. Baldwin has served on the firm’s board of directors since 2011 and was previously the managing shareholder of the firm’s Indianapolis office. He serves on the Indiana Chamber of Commerce’s Executive Committee as vice-chair and was previously selected as an Indiana Chamber “Volunteer of the Year” for his work in the Indianapolis community. Baldwin is a Charter Member of the American Employment Law Council, as well as a member of the Eiteljorg Museum’s Advisory Council and the College of Labor and Employment Lawyers’ 7th Circuit Credentials Committee. He has also been recognized for leadership in legal innovation and legal project management by a number of prestigious publications and organizations, including the College of Law Practice Management, Association of Corporate Counsel, American Corporate Counsel Association, and the International Legal Technology Association. He was singled out among his peers for his professional accomplishments, including being elected as a Fellow in the prestigious College of Labor and Employment Lawyers and being listed as one of the top labor and employment lawyers in Indiana by Chambers USA, The Best Lawyers in America, and Super Lawyers magazine. Baldwin is an experienced writer and has authored a number of publications on labor and employment law. He served for many years as the Seventh Circuit Editor for the “Employment & Labor Relations Litigation Newsletter” of the ABA, was a contributing author for the first and second edition of “Model Jury Instructions: Employment Litigation,” published by the Litigation Section of the ABA, and co-authored Indiana Chamber publications including “Indiana Guide to Preventing Workplace Harassment,” “Interviewing Guide: Designed to Assist Indiana Employers with Hiring and Retaining Employees,” and “Managing Employees Leaves of Absence.
