Books & Brews Founder and Chief Executive Officer, Jason Wuerfel first announced plans to franchise his business last year. The Carmel location will be owned and operated by Alex Stanley, a CPA and municipal advisor, and his wife Lori, an Indianapolis Colts cheerleader and pediatric registered nurse.
"I first discovered Books & Brews on a brewery tour with a group of friends for my bachelor party," said Alex Stanley. "When I walked into the bar area at the Indy location the first thing I saw was a beer named ‘The Prisoner of Aleskaban,’ and I knew I was in a unique place that I would love. When I got home I immediately told Lori that we had to go back together. Since that day, Books & Brews has become more than a brewery, used bookstore or a place for games and live music, it has become part of us."
Lori Stanley says the Carmel location will have its own personality, but will keep the same foundation as the original locations.
"We are fully committed to keeping the atmosphere and vibe that Books & Brews has already established," she said. "We fell in love with the foundation Books & Brews was built on; making everyone who walks through those doors feel welcome and encouraged to be themselves."
An opening date for Books & Brews Carmel has not been released, however the new location will be open seven days a week.
