Big Bank Boosting Presence in Central Indiana
North Carolina-based Bank of America Corp. (NYSE: BAC) has announced its first financial center in the state. The location in the new Cummins Office Tower in downtown Indianapolis is expected to open by the end of the year. The center will offer retail banking services and is part of the company’s larger growth plans for central Indiana.
A spokeswoman tells Inside INdiana Business another location in the region could sprout up by the end of the year and two or three more could open in 2018. Bank of America says it currently has some 128,000 Indianapolis-area commercial banking, business banking and wealth management services customers.
Financial Center and Merrill Edge Central Division Executive Will Smayda says "the decision to open financial centers here is an important demonstration of our commitment to Indianapolis. These financial centers will provide our existing banking, investment and commercial clients, as well as new customers, with access to all the capabilities Bank of America has to offer. Seamlessly integrated with our digital offerings, the physical presence of these new financial centers will provide our clients with both the high-tech and high-touch experience that we always strive to create for them."
Bank of America says Indianapolis will join additional markets like Denver and Minneapolis where it is expanding its footprint.
