The interim president of Ball State University has announced his retirement. Terry King, who has served in the role on two separate occasions, told the Ball State Board of Trustees he will step down this summer. King postponed his retirement in January 2016 following the sudden resignation of former President Paul Ferguson. King also served as provost and executive vice president of academic affairs at Ball State. King also served as interim president during the transition period between the tenures of Jo Ann Gora and Ferguson. The board of trustees named Geoffrey Mearns the school’s 17th president in January. His tenure will begin in August.
