IU Tops Online Colleges Rankings

Indiana University and its regional campuses are featured heavily in College Choice's list of the 24 Best Online Colleges in Indiana. The rankings are based on a number of criteria, including academic quality and return on investment. 

IU institutions account for seven of the top 10 online colleges. IU Bloomington tops the list, followed by IU East, IU Northwest, IU Southeast and IU Kokomo. Ball State University break's IU's streak at number six, followed by IU South Bend, IUPUI, Purdue University Northwest and Indiana State University.

"The state has a great educational heritage, including a commitment to education that was written into its first state constitution," said College Choice. "That commitment has paid off ever since, as Indiana has become home to large research universities, small liberal arts college, and everything in between—not to mention the country’s biggest community college system."

The remaining rankings include:

  • 11 - Trine University
  • 12 - University of Southern Indiana
  • 13 - Indiana Wesleyan University
  • 14 - Huntington University
  • 15 - Taylor University
  • 16 - University of Saint Francis
  • 17 - Grace College
  • 18 - Oakland City University
  • 19 - Bethel College 
  • 20 - Saint Mary-of-the-Woods College
  • 21 - Valparaiso University
  • 22 - Rose-Hulman Institute of Technology
  • 23 - University of Indianapolis
  • 24 - Anderson University

      State Revenue Ticks Higher in August

      Indiana revenue in August exceeded projections by nearly four percent. The Indiana State Budget Agency reports General Revenue funds last month hit $1.1 billion, 3.8 percent above projections. Sales tax revenue came in higher than anticipated at $693 million, more than three percent higher.
