Kroger to Build New Fort Wayne Store
Cincinnati-based The Kroger Co. (NYSE: KR) has announced plans to build a $26 million store in Fort Wayne. The company says the 100,000 square-foot store will create about 300 jobs.
Kroger says, since they are building a new store, it will come with new jobs, except for managers or department heads that may be transferred. The store will be located near the intersection of Dupont and Tonkel Roads, an area of Fort Wayne the company says is likely to produce a greater demand.
Kroger says the timeline for construction is still being determined. The company’s central division operates 137 stores, most of which are located in Indiana and Illinois.
Last year, Kroger opened a new store in Fishers and also details plans for stores in LaPorte and Greenwood.
