Last Leg of Ohio River Greenway Project Begins
Officials from Jeffersonville, Clarksville and New Albany have broken ground on the final portion of the $42 million Ohio River Greenway project. The 1.3-mile Lewis and Clark Trail is the last link of the nearly 8-mile greenway that will connect the three communities.
One Southern Indiana says the $10 million Lewis and Clark Trail is a significant portion of the project as it will directly connect Clarksville to New Albany and will include a new bridge over Silver Creek. The organization says the construction "signifies a major milestone in a partnership with the US Army Corps of Engineers and local communities to provide public access to the riverfront."
The ground breaking ceremony also included officials from the Ohio River Greenway Commission and the Indiana Department of Transportation. You can connect to more about the Ohio River Greenway project by clicking here.
