She previously served as a lead on multiple process improvement projects within a large acute care setting, focusing on organizational change. Powell also served as a quality performance improvement nurse, focusing on process improvement projects for organizational patient falls in order to decrease the impact to the Patient Harm Index Scorecard. She has additional clinical experience in trauma, intensive care unit and cardiovascular critical care. In her new role, Powell performs duties to conduct and manage the daily operations of the utilization management function. She also communicates with staff to facilitate daily department functions. Powell received her Bachelor of Science in nursing from Marian University.
