The project, which could cost $68 million, would be located on the site of a former International Paper facility. Our partners at WTHI-TV in Terre Haute report the funding was reduced from an initial $5 million request.
It will be used for early site and consulting work. Plans call for the 181,000 square-foot facility to include 534 beds, which is double the capacity of the current center. WTHI-TV reports the funds will be transferred from economic development income tax funds.
