Purdue Names Pharmacy College Dean

Barker is a professor of medicinal chemistry and molecular pharmacology. The university says in his new role, Barker will be responsible for overseeing teaching research and engagement, the fiscal health of the college and representing the college to constituents.
"With strong support from both inside and outside of the College of Pharmacy, Eric was selected as dean from a pool of four highly qualified finalists," said Deba Dutta, provost and executive vice president for academic affairs and diversity. "He is a well-respected leader who will help the college enhance its reputation for excellence and promote the faculty’s scholarship, teaching and mentoring expertise."
Barker is also the editor-in-chief for Pharmacological Reviews, a quarterly peer-reviewed scientific journal.
