It will involve a two-mile stretch of U.S. 27 and one mile of U.S. 40.
INDOT says it will rebuild the roadways in sections and initial site work could begin as early as March 1. Specific dates for construction and traffic restrictions have not yet been announced.
The work on U.S. 27 will cover the road between the Whitewater River bridge near Sim Hodgin Parkway and the overpass at South O Street. Eastbound U.S. 40 construction will involve the bridge over the White River gorge to 11th Street, as well as 11th Street from South A Street to Main Street.
