Hall, Render, Killian, Heath & Lyman, the largest health care-focused law firm in the nation, has promoted Andrew Coats to senior policy advisor. He has spent nearly two decades in Washington D.C. focusing on health care policy. Coats previously served as of counsel to the firm and helped direct an effort by a nationwide coalition of health systems to make comprehensive reforms to the Stark Law. He was also instrumental in advancing rural health measures in both the House and Senate and has represented various health systems on Medicare reimbursement issues before Congress and the Centers for Medicare & Medicaid Services. Coats earned his undergraduate degree from James Madison University in 2000 and his law degree from the Indiana University Robert H. McKinney School of Law in 2009.
