The online career and technical education company says McNelly, who previously served as president of The Manufacturing Institute in Washington D.C., will begin her new role this week.
In her new role, McNelly will be responsible for leading industry engagement and strategy for the company, focusing on national and international partnerships. 180 Skills provides resources for job seekers that aim to fill the so-called "skills gap."
"We are excited to have Jennifer join our team," said Joe Kitterman, chief executive officer of 180 Skills. "As a nationally recognized expert in workforce development, Jennifer will help us form strategic partnerships that will address our national skills gap and address critical training needs in high-growth, high-demand jobs."
At The Manufacturing Institute, McNelly was responsible for developing an agenda to close the skills gap in the nation’s manufacturing sector in an effort to make American manufacturers competitive throughout the world. She was named among the inaugural 100 Women Leaders in STEM in 2012.
