Our partners at WTHR-TV report the facility will be built at the former Citizens Gas Plant on the city’s east side.
The Mayor’s task force on criminal justice reform selected the site from a list of 12 properties. The station reports the site was chosen over the former RCA plant, which the city recently began demolishing for redevelopment, and a property near Indianapolis International Airport.
Hogsett is scheduled to make the formal announcement at 10:00 a.m.
