Hogsett Makes Director-Level Appointment

He previously served as the mayor’s neighborhood advocate for Wayne and Decatur Townships. In this role, Rodriguez was a resource to diverse Westside neighborhoods, acting as a facilitator for quality of life plans and city projects. He had previously worked as a bilingual constituent services representative in the Mayor’s Action Center, where he gained in-depth knowledge of city services and built relationships with the Latino community. His global perspective is derived from his international upbringing. He was born in Guatemala, the child of a Colombian immigrant and a native Midwesterner, and spent his childhood in both Mexico and Spain. Rodriguez received a Bachelor’s of Science in Nutritional Science and Biology from Charter Oaks State College. He began his career at Verity College Education, where he created the school’s first-ever Community Outreach Office and Internship Program.
