Airport Touts Success, Focuses on Future
The executive director of Indianapolis International Airport says he is pleased with last year’s accomplishments, adding "we will not be satisfied with the status quo." In an annual report, Mario Rodriguez calls the state’s largest airport "a vital economic engine" for the region and says officials will work to continue "increasing the public value."
The report details four areas of strategic focus throughout 2016: community engagement, economic impact, long-term stability and sustainability and customer service. It also recapped several awards and accomplishments, including being linked to $5.4 billion and over 22,500 area jobs in the community. One of its most high-profile announcements during the year involved additional nonstop flights to several destinations important to the business and technology communities.
