Ivy Tech Leader Expands Role
An executive at Ivy Tech Community College is adding to his responsibilities. Christopher Ruhl, who serves as senior vice president, chief financial officer and general counsel, has also been named chief information officer.
As CIO, Ruhl succeeds Anne Brinson, who retired in December. In his new role, Bruhl will be responsible for overseeing the Decision Support and Information Technology departments. Ivy Tech says he will lead several major projects, including the continued expansion of the college’s data warehouse and analytics tools.
"It is an honor to work for Ivy Tech and this expanded role is very important to our success," says Ruhl. "I am humbled and fortunate to be succeeding a terrific leader in Anne who amongst her many successes was building a first class, high functioning team that works together for the mission of the College. We will build on the team’s work of using powerful data analytics and leading edge information technology services to enhance student success and workforce alignment outcomes."
Ruhl, a former director of the Indiana Office of Management and Budget and the Indiana State Budget Agency under former Governor Mitch Daniels, joined Ivy Tech in January 2012. He also chairs the Ivy Tech Retirement Committee.
