Franklin Mayor Joe McGuinness has been named commissioner of the Indiana Department of Transportation. In addition to leading the Johnson County city, McGuinness serves on the Indianapolis Metropolitan Planning Organization Administrative and Policy committees, the Central Indiana Regional Transportation Authority and the 2045 Long Ranges Transportation Plan Steering Committee. McGuinness will succeed Brandye Hendrickson, whom Holcomb recently appointed to serve as state personnel department director. Jim McClelland has been appointed executive director for substance abuse, prevention and enforcement. He recently retired as chief executive officer of Goodwill Industries Foundation of Central Indiana Inc. Holcomb has also named Stephanie Wilson has been named press secretary for the incoming governor. Wilson currently serves as communications director for the Indiana Commission for Higher Education and previously served as deputy communications director at the Indianapolis Department of Public Works. Holcomb has promoted Bruno Pigott to commissioner of the Indiana Department of Environmental Management. Pigott currently serves as chief of staff of the department and previously served in various roles within the Office of Water Quality. The governor-elect has also reappointed Jim Greeson as state fire marshal.
