The Bloomington Technology Partnership is touting a successful 2016 for the city’s tech sector. The Bloomington Economic Development Corp. initiative says several local companies added jobs this year, including Platformatics, GP Strategies and Cornerstone Information Systems.

The partnership detailed the sector’s year at its annual Tech The Halls event.

Other highlights include CheddarGetter LLC, which has developed a recurring billing system platform, being accepted into this year’s SixThirty investment class. SixThirty is an accelerator that globally in high-growth potential financial technology companies. Periodic, which offers online and mobile scheduling infrastructure, completed a half-million dollar seed financing round. The partnership also says companies affiliated with local venture capital firm SproutBox raised millions in new financing.

Additional company milestones include Cornerstone Information Systems breaking ground on its new corporate headquarters in downtown Bloomington and RareSloth releasing the mobile game King Rabbit, which has been downloaded more than one million times.
