She most recently served as vice president of the South Shore Leadership Center in Valparaiso, where she was responsible for enrollment, marketing, and program development for the widely known regional community leadership programs South Shore Leadership Youth for Community Engagement for high schools students and Leadership Northwest Indiana
adult community leadership program. During Searer’s service, she helped rebrand the organization, develop and expand the youth leadership and mentoring program and organized programming and special events for alumni and key leaders in the northwest Indiana community. She has also served as vice president for enrollment management and marketing at Malone University in Canton, Ohio, associate vice president of enrollment and marketing at the College of DuPage in Glen Ellyn, Illinois and director of marketing and communications at Indiana University Northwest in Gary. Searer holds an MBA and BS degree in Business Administration from Indiana University, a post master certificate in Enrollment Management from Capella University and is currently in the dissertation phase to complete her Ph.D. in Leadership in Higher Education in 2017. Her area of research focus is the retention of under-represented minority student populations.
