Social Health Association Names Director
Social Health Association of Indiana Inc. has named Abbe Shapiro (pictured) director of programs & evaluation. She previously worked for the National Alliance of State and Territorial AIDS Directors to create an online tool kit that assists agencies in creating HIV Linkage to Care Programs. Shapiro earned her Master’s in Social Work, with a concentration in Organizational Leadership, from Indiana University. She gained national recognition for creating innovative programs that improved health outcomes for underserved communities in Indianapolis, and local recognition for strengthening community partnerships. Shapiro also sits on the board of directors for the Indiana Health Advocacy Coalition and Circle City Derby Girls. The agency has also elected two board members: Tia Jackson and Jessica Moore. Jackson is a trainer and champion of quality coaching at Bonfire Training and a project manager for DEFENDERS. Moore is immigrant program specialist at The Indianapolis Public Library.
