Beth Peter (pictured) has been named chief financial officer and vice president of finance for the United Way of Allen County. She replaces Terri Venable, who served the organization for a dozen years. Prior to coming to United Way, Peter served as controller for The Cara Program in Chicago. While there, she redesigned the accounting system for the organization, which placed more than 5,000 adults in 7,100 high-quality jobs. The Cara Program was recognized as one of the top 20 in 2015, out of more than 18,000 charities in Chicago. In Fort Wayne, she served as executive director for F.A.M.E. and has practiced public accounting for more than 15 years.
