The Indiana State Council of the Society for Human Resource Management has elected the following: Diana Vida (pictured), Chuck Gillespie (pictured), Cheryl Hughes, Kathy Marra and Desila Rosetti. As operational effectiveness director, Vida will be responsible for overseeing the preparation of a record of the proceedings of all meetings of the governing body, and be responsible for the financial affairs of the Council. As HRPDA president, she was able to double meeting attendance and increase chapter membership by 25%. In addition, she implemented a membership retention and onboarding initiative and enhanced monthly networking and networking opportunities. Vida has been instrumental in the merger of HRPDA with IndySHRM, coordinating communication and organizational elements between the chapters. In her professional role, she works for STANLEY Security in Human Resources. Gillespie has been appointed workforce readiness director. He will monitor and evaluate state and local activities concerning workforce readiness issues, and will work with chapter workforce readiness advocates. Gillespie has been an at-large member of the Indiana State Council for four years, focusing on building strategic partnerships. As an employee of the Indiana Chamber, he has been co-chair of the Indiana Workplace Wellness Partnership and has grown the group into a strong think tank for the Live Healthy Indiana challenges. He oversees a nonprofit, where he works extensively with volunteers to accomplish much of what is required at the Wellness Council. Hughes has been named college relations director for the south region. She has served in a number of volunteer roles, as a member of the South Central Indiana Human Resource Association, including college relations chair, chapter president, vice president of programs, and faculty advisor of SHRM Student Chapter. Hughes works as a lecturer at Indiana University-SPEA and has recently been named co-lead for the Management major. Marra, college relations director for the mid east region, serves as faculty advisor for the Marian University Student Chapter of the Society for Human Resource Management. In addition to her full-time teaching position, she is the owner and founder of HR Prof Consulting LLC, a human resource consulting firm that offers customized human resource services to small businesses with specialty in maximizing their human capital. Rosetti has been appointed college director for the north region. She has overseen her student chapter at Calumet College of St. Joseph for about 4 years. In this role, Rosetti will look for more networking and educational opportunities and ways state council might support the chapters with financial incentives. She has also served as foundation chair for the Indiana State Council of SHRM and the State Conference Committee. Rosetti is currently president of ODS, a training and project management company located in northwest Indiana. Each has been voted in by the State Council of SHRM and will serve in their roles for the 2017/2018 term.
