December 12, 2013

News Release

The state's largest farm organization Indiana Farm Bureau will hold its annual state convention at the Grand Wayne Convention Center in Fort Wayne from December 13/14. The theme of this year's convention is “Navigating the Future.”

Over two days, Indiana Farm Bureau expects 1,200 members to attend, including a representative from each state county. The representatives will hold meetings to discuss bureau business and elect a new vice president.

Other convention highlights include a trade show in the Grand Wayne's Anthony Wayne Ballroom, featuring farm product organizations, commercial exhibitors and a number of informational sessions. The general public is invited to attend the trade show on December 13 (9 a.m. to 5 p.m.) and December 14 (8 a.m. to noon).

Author and former Navy commander Mike Abrashoff will serve as the keynote speaker on December 14 at noon.

The state convention will pump an estimated $700,000 directly in Fort Wayne's local economy, as the group will flock to downtown restaurants, bars and attractions.
