Aviation Tech Partnership Underway in Tippecanoe County

Subscribe NowIvy Tech Community College-Lafayette and Purdue University have joined forces on an effort designed to load the pipeline for a high-demand industry. The partnership involves Tippecanoe County students co-enrolling at the colleges to earn an associate’s degree in aviation maintenance technology from Ivy Tech, which can then be applied toward a bachelor’s degree in Purdue’s aeronautical engineering technology or aviation management programs. The schools say the collaboration was spurred by the $100 million General Electric Aviation plant in Lafayette.
In a recent edition of our Indiana Connections e-newsletter, Ivy Tech-Lafayette Vice Chancellor of Academic Affairs Todd Roswarski said the arrangement is a nice fit for the community and local work force.
Roswarski says a long list of factors makes Lafayette an ideal place for the co-enrollment program.
