The NorthWestern Financial Review has honored Karen Gregerson as one of its 2016 Outstanding Women in Banking. She is the president and chief executive officer of The Farmers Bank. Based on nominations submitted by readers, NorthWestern Financial Review honors six outstanding bankers who have made significant contributions to their communities and the industry. In April 2016, Gregerson was hired as president and CEO of The Farmers Bank in Frankfort. Her work ethic, passion for developing herself and for leading others have fueled her ascension to leader of the bank. She previously held several positions with STAR Financial Bank in Fort Wayne. Gregerson obtained a Bachelor of Science degree in Accounting from Ball State University. She is a CPA and also has passed the Certified Financial Planner exams. In September 2010, she earned a Master’s of Science in Organizational Leadership from Indiana Tech. Gregerson is also a director of the Federal Home Loan Bank of Indianapolis. She has served on a number of boards in both Marion and Fort Wayne, including the Girl Scouts of America, St. Martin de Porres Community Center, Habitat for Humanity, Matthew 25 Health and Dental Clinic and Junior Achievement. She has also volunteered for the United Way of Allen County and is a past president of the school board of Bishop Luers High School, where she was Academic Super Bowl coordinator.
