South Bend-based AM General has named retired U.S. Army General Jack Keane executive chairman. In his new role, he will provide "strategic oversight and counsel" regarding the company’s strategic growth initiatives. Keane will work with Chief Executive Officer Andy Hove and AM General’s parent, MacAndrews & Forbes Inc., in his new position. He spent nearly 40 years in the Army before retiring as a four-star general. AM General, announced last month plans to move its service parts and logistics operations into a new 210,000 square-foot facility in South Bend. The move is expected to be complete by the end of the year. The company manufactures specialized vehicles for military and commercial customers.
