WBAA Expands to FM
Purdue University’s public radio station, WBAA, has launched a new FM frequency. The station, an Inside INdiana Business radio affiliate, will re-broadcast public radio news and information programs on 105.9 FM in addition to its original home on 920 AM.
WBAA says funds donated by listener members allowed for the purchase of the frequency, which covers the greater Lafayette area and nearby communities.
"We heard the requests from our listeners to put the WBAA News format on FM," said WBAA General Manager Mike Savage. "This is the first time our listeners will be able to hear AM920 programming on FM."
WBAA says it will continue to broadcast classical music on 101.3 FM and 24-hour jazz at its website.
