The U.S. Department of Defense has awarded multi-million dollar contract extensions for Indiana companies. Rolls-Royce in Indianapolis and South Bend-based AM General will receive a total of more than $170 million to continue services for the U.S. Navy and U.S. Army.

The $62 million contract for Rolls-Royce calls for maintenance and logistics support for engines in the Navy’s T-45 aircraft fleet. Work is expected to be complete in March of 2017 and will be performed at Naval Air Stations in Mississippi, Texas, Florida and Maryland.

AM General has received a more than $108 million contract boost which calls for the production of 433 Humvees for the Army. The work will be performed in Mishawaka and is expected to be complete by September of 2017.

Rolls-Royce is also involved in two contracts, totaling more than $350 million, awarded to California-based Northrop Grumman Systems Corp. The contracts involve work on the MQ-4C Triton unmanned surveillance aircraft, which are powered by Rolls-Royce engines. A small portion of the work for each contract will be performed in Indianapolis.
