Dye to Unveil $500M ‘Masterpiece’
The latest golf course designed by PGA Lifetime Achievement Award Winner Pete Dye will open later this month in Westfield. Chatham Hills is part of a $500 million development that includes homes, nature trails and 40 acres of parks. Dye says the course is on land originally purchased in 1835 as part of the Northwest Territory. The development also includes a 9-hole course, also designed by Dye, to encourage beginning golfers, children and seniors.
Developers say the community will also feature a clubhouse with swimming, fitness, tennis, dining and bowling. They add that homes have been carefully planned around the course to maintain natural features. Henke Development group is overseeing the project. Steve Henke calls Chatham Hills "the ultimate in year-round golf course resort living." Dye says he designed the course to allow for more available lots.
The course officially opens on Thursday, September 29. Pete and Alice Dye will hit inaugural tee shots at that day’s grand opening festivities. Developers say homes and custom building sites are now available.
Another Pete Dye-designed golf course, Crooked Stick Golf Club in Carmel, just finished hosting the PGA’s 2016 BMW Championship. The four-day event drew nearly 125,000 fans. Dustin Johnson won the tournament, earning a $1.53 million check.
