Ivy Tech Names Senior VP For Workforce Alignment

He previously served as acting vice president for Ivy Tech Corporate College and chancellor of the Columbus and Southeast regions. In his new role, Lowery will be responsible for articulating a vision, mission, strategy, and strategic objectives, to drive the College’s workforce alignment and development initiatives. He is a member of the State Workforce Innovation Council, a privilege appointed by the Governor of Indiana. Also with the Council, Lowery is the chair of the Work and Learn Taskforce, appointed by the Commissioner of the Department of Workforce Development, and recently a member of the Demand-Driven Taskforce, by the same appointee. On behalf of the College, he is a member of the Southeastern Indiana Workforce Investment Board’s Board of Directors. Lowery is also the chair of the Governor’s Works Council for Southeastern Indiana, appointed in 2013. Prior to his career with Ivy Tech, he led public policy and engagement for Hillenbrand Inc. in Batesville. Lowery earned a Bachelor’s of Science in Public Affairs through the School of Public and Environmental Affairs from Indiana University. He is currently pursuing his Masters of Science in Management from Indiana Wesleyan University and anticipates completion in early 2018.
