Indianapolis-based Interactive Intelligence Group Inc. (Nasdaq: ININ) has announced a partnership with Anderson University to open a new technology training center. The company says the center will provide hands-on training for its interns enrolled in the university’s School of Science and Engineering.

The company calls the training center "ideal" for students pursuing careers in computer science, information systems or software engineering. The center can connect to the test lab at the Interactive Intelligence headquarters in Indianapolis.

Interactive Intelligence opened a similar training center at Purdue University in 2012, which has served more than 40 students to date.

"The success of our Purdue University training center confirmed this model works by propelling the pace at which our interns’ careers develop," said Jason Probala, Interactive Intelligence senior director of testing. "We’re excited to expand this program to Anderson University students by offering them the opportunity to work alongside our senior test engineers on projects that provide real business impact."

Interactive Intelligence and Anderson University will hold a ribbon cutting ceremony September 7 at 11:00 a.m. to celebrate the center’s opening. The news of the training center comes one day after the announcement of a proposed $1.4 billion acquisition of Interactive Intelligence by California-based Genesys.
