Evansville Airport Beefs Up Dallas Offerings
Evansville Regional Airport will offer more nonstop service to Dallas Fort Worth beginning in November. Executive Director Doug Joest says the new flights from American Airlines will "immediately benefit" area business and leisure travelers looking to reach Dallas, the West Coast and international markets.
The airport says the additional offerings will allow travelers to start their day in Dallas and end their day in Evansville. Director of Marketing and Air Service Leslie Fella says the announcement shows the community’s support for the airport and the existing flights.
American Airlines began service between Evansville and Dallas in June 2005.
The announcement comes amid growing momentum for the airport. It reported a record year in 2015, with passenger traffic increasing more than 19 percent. In March, Allegiant said it would add nonstop service between Evansville and Orlando, Florida. Those flights began in June. Earlier this summer, the airport completed a new $1.5 million jet bridge, which it says was needed because of growing passenger demand.
