Because of the work, the Indiana Department of Transportation says more lane closures will be in place on Interstate 74 in both directions next week.
North Vernon-based Dave O’Mara Contractor Inc. will close the left lane of westbound I-74 between State Road 244 and State Road 9. The Blue Ridge Road bridge over I-74 will also close on or after Wednesday, during which time country road traffic will be detoured around the work.
The second phase of the project, which began last month, is still ongoing. Because of phase two, the left lane of eastbound I-74 will remain closed between SR-9 and SR-244. Each phase of the project is expected to last four to six weeks.
The project, which began in June, is expected to be complete in November.
