Rail-to-Truck Warehouse to Open in Indy
Officials from the Indiana Rail Road Co. and Venture Logistics will cut the ribbon Wednesday on a new rail-to-truck warehouse on the south side of Indianapolis. Ground was broken on the $21 million, 406,000 square-foot Venture Rail Warehouse and Distribution Center in October.
Indiana Rail Road says the facility is the first "mega-warehouse" with rail access in Marion County in many years. It is adjacent to the rail road’s mainline and Venture Logistics says it provides daily service to the Chicago gateway, as well as a one-day truck haul to 80 percent of the population in the United States and Canada.
The ribbon-cutting ceremony is scheduled for 4:00 p.m..
