Hoosier Lottery Executive Director Sarah Taylor says total revenue for the organization was $1.2 billion. The results were bolstered by record sales in both scratch-off and draw games, which increased in part due to large Powerball and Mega Millions jackpots during the fiscal year.
"All Hoosiers will benefit from this very successful year for the Hoosier Lottery," said Taylor. "We will provide $60 million to the pension funds for Indiana’s teachers, and local police officers and firefighters, and our contribution to the Build Indiana Fund will continue to support reduced auto excise taxes. This year the Hoosier Lottery became only the second U.S. lottery to achieve the industry’s highest certification for its responsible gaming program."
The Hoosier Lottery says lottery winners received more than $772 million in prize payments and more than 4,500 retailers scored $82 million in commissions.
