Susan Brooks (R-5) and Todd Rokita (R-4) won Indiana Republican Party caucuses over the weekend, returning them to the ballot.
Brooks and Rokita both sought to fill the vacancy left on the gubernatorial ballot by Governor Mike Pence when he became Republican presidential nominee Donald Trump’s running mate. The party chose Lieutenant Governor Eric Holcomb for the spot. State Senator Jim Tomes (R-49) was also seeking the nomination.
Indiana Republican Party precinct committeemen met in Lafayette Saturday for the votes. Chairman Jeff Cardwell issued a statement after the vote saying, "Our November ticket continues to grow stronger, and the Republican Party will continue to fight to make America great again."
