The Indiana State University Alumni Association has announced this year's Distinguished Alumni Awards winners. They include a prominent physician, an executive at Cintas Corp. and a former college teammate of Larry Bird.

The Distinguished Alumni Award program began in 1957. Since then, nearly 300 Indiana State graduates have received the award, including Inside INdiana Business Television Host Gerry Dick.

This year's honorees are:

Linda Eldred, a 1963 graduate who returned to her alma mater to work as a student affairs professional
Gregory Funk, a 1973 graduate who was the first full-time physician in Gulf Shores, Alabama
Bob Heaton, a 1980 graduate, known as "Miracle Bob" on the ISU basketball team, who is president of Heaton Financial Services
Quintin Mikell, a 1984 graduate who is currently assistant to the executive officer with Cintas Corporation

The group will be honored at the Distinguished Alumni Awards on September 30.
