Colts to Honor Polian
The Indianapolis Colts are set to induct former president and vice chairman Bill Polian into the Ring of Honor at Lucas Oil Stadium. Polian’s name will be added during halftime of the Colts’ game against the Jacksonville Jaguars on January 1.
Polian worked for the Colts from 1998-2011, during which the team won eight division championships, two conference championships and one Super Bowl title. He was inducted into the Pro Football Hall of Fame in 2015.
"Bill was incredibly successful during his time with our franchise and proved to be a Hall of Famer," said Jim Irsay, Colts owner and chief executive officer. "He was one of the most innovative personalities to ever grace our sport, and his passion for the game was and still is unmatched. I will always be grateful to Bill for his contributions to the Colts, and to the NFL."
Polian has also served as a general manager or president with the Carolina Panthers and Buffalo Bills. He will be the 13th person inducted into the Ring of Honor, joining Robert Irsay, Bill Brooks, Ted Marchibroda, Chris Hinton, Jim Harbaugh, Colts Nation, Tony Dungy, Marvin Harrison, Edgerrin James, Eric Dickerson, Marshall Faulk and Jeff Saturday.
