The health system will name part of its sky farm on the roof of the Eskenazi Health Outpatient Care Center in honor of the $150,000 gift.
The gift is meant to support the Sidney & Lois Eskenazi Hospital and Eskenazi Health campus in Indianapolis, along with current programs being administered by the health system. One of those programs, the sky farm, includes a trellis which will now be known as The RoomPlace Sky Farm Trellis.
The sky farm aims to help people engage with food, learn how it grows and how to prepare fresh produce. It is available to patients and staff of the health system, as well as the community, to "foster a greater understanding of the importance of healthy eating."
The ribbon cutting ceremony is scheduled for 4:00 p.m. Last month, The RoomPlace announced it was taking over a 170,000 square-foot building on the city’s east side, which will serve as a warehouse, showroom, and the corporate headquarters for the company’s rent-to-own retail division.
