Evansville Manufacturers Merging
Two Evansville manufacturing companies are merging. Heavy construction contractor Traylor Bros. has agreed to purchase 50 percent of Felker Companies, which provides services including fabrication, welding and structural metal work.
Traylor Bros. is a heavy civil contractor specializing in building landmark bridges, tunnels and marine structures. The company ultimately plans to grow its ownership of the Felker Companies to 100 percent over the next six years.
The Felker Companies consists of Sterling Boiler & Mechanical Inc., A&D Constructors Inc. and Onyett Fabricators. The companies serve clients in industries including power generation, plastics, oil refining and paper processing throughout the United States.
The companies are not disclosing specific terms of the deal. Both will continue to operate under their current leadership. Traylor Bros. Co-President Chris Traylor says the agreement allows for new growth opportunities "through combined financial strength, an expanded network of partners and through the positive relationships developed by both companies."
