IUPUI Names Chief Academic Officer

Johnson will begin her new role in July, pending approval by the Indiana University Board of Trustees. IUPUI says she will oversee the recruitment, hiring and advancement of faculty and help oversee the school’s academic plans and programs.
Johnson joined IUPUI in 1993 as an assistant professor in the Department Psychology. Since then, she has held administrative positions including department chair, associate vice chancellor for undergraduate education and University College dean. She earned her B.S. and M.S. in psychology from the University of Massachusetts Amherst and her Ph.D. in psychology from Emory University.
In a release from IUPUI, Johnson said, "I am humbled and honored by the opportunity to continue serving the campus in this role. I am eager to work with our outstanding campus community to help showcase IUPUI’s astonishing array of strengths and help foster an engaging student-centered learning experience and a dynamic educational environment in which faculty, staff and students can thrive."
