Also today, the 100th Running Host Committee of the Indianapolis 500 plans what it calls a major announcement this morning.
IMS President Doug Boles says Green is a big IndyCar fan, and "we have been looking for the right opportunity to get him involved in one of the events." The Angie’s List Grand Prix of Indianapolis is set for Saturday, May 14.
Green’s first novel, "Looking for Alaska," won the Printz Award, a major young adult book award, in 2006. He gained major national fame in 2012 when his sixth novel, "The Fault in Our Stars," debuted at the top of the New York Times Best Seller list. The film adaptation of the book opened at number one in the box office in 2014.
The host committee’s announcement is set for 10:00 a.m. at the top level of the Washington Street parking garage in downtown Indianapolis.
