Michigan City to Host Job Fair

The event will take place at the Blue Chip Casino and feature employers, universities, skilled trade representatives and community organizations.
The event is a collaboration among the city of Michigan City, the Economic Development Corp. Michigan City, Greater La Porte Economic Development and the Northwest Indiana Workforce Board WorkOne offices. It will feature employers, universities, skilled trade representatives and community organizations to help job seekers find opportunities and career training.
"Having these organizations and resources under one roof for the job seekers will be tremendous,” said Michigan City Mayor Ron Meer. "It’s guaranteed to be a day of valuable networking for all involved."
The job fair will be held from 10:00 a.m. until 3:00 p.m. with the first hour being open to veterans only. The general public will be able to attend beginning at 11:00 a.m and attendees are encouraged to bring multiple copies of their resume and to dress in business attire.
The Economic Development Corp. Michigan City says anyone needing resume assistance before the job fair can receive a free resume workshop at any WorkOne Center.
