The Republic reports owner William "Bill" Becker, Jr. decided not to reopen the restaurant over the winter. Becker took over management of the drive-in from his father, who founded it, in the 1980s.
"It was a real tough decision, and I know I’m disappointing a lot of people," Becker told the publication. "We’ve been here a long time. But it’s time for me and my family to step aside. I’m tired and as I approach my 64th birthday, I know I’ll have my own challenges ahead."
The Republic reports there are potential investors considering buying the business. Becker said keeping the drive-in open under a different owner might make good business sense.
