UE Set For First ‘Changemaker Challenge’

The university says the objective is to motivate young people to find "innovative and creative solutions to challenges facing today’s world."
Teams from 12 high schools will compete to solve local, national or global challenges. Their presentations will be judged by community leaders from Vanderburgh and Warrick Counties.
The teams will be judged on several criteria, including identification of a need, innovation, feasibility and potential impact, how self-sustaining the solution is and effectiveness of the presentation. Teams from the following schools will be competing:
- Boonville High School
- Bosse High School
- Castle High School
- Central High School
- Early College at Ivy Tech
- Mater Dei
- Memorial High School
- New Tech Institute
- North High School
- Reitz High School
- Shepard Law Academy
- Tecumseh High School
Any member of the winning team who chooses to attend the University of Evansville will receive a full-tuition scholarship each year for four years, so long as they adhere to certain requirements. Additional scholarships and cash prizes will be given to second and third place teams.
