Indiana Schools Get Tournament Calls

Subscribe NowSeven Division I NCAA men’s basketball programs in Indiana will tip-off this week in national post-season tournaments. Teams from the state received invitations from the NCAA, NIT and College Insider Tournament.
Four teams were selected for the NCAA Tournament. Indiana University, seeded fifth in the East, will play Thursday in Des Moines against #12 The University of Tennessee at Chattanooga. The University of Notre Dame is ranked sixth in the East and will face the winner Friday of a play-in game featuring the University of Michigan and the University of Tulsa.
Purdue University received a #5 seed in the Midwest and will take on the University of Arkansas at Little Rock Thursday in Denver. Ninth-seeded Butler University is also in the Midwest quadrant of the NCAA bracket and will play #8 Texas Tech University Thursday in Raleigh.
Valparaiso University received a one-seed in the NIT and will host #8 Texas Southern University on Tuesday. Also Tuesday, IPFW will be in San Diego to play #2 San Diego State University in the NIT.
Ball State University got the call from the CIT and will face Tennessee State University Tuesday.
Division I women’s teams will find out Monday night if they’ve made a post-season tournament.
