The supply chain logistics solutions provider says it will invest $3.5 million to move its operations into a larger facility, which is expected to be complete early next year. The Indiana Economic Development Corp. says the software consultant and developer positions are expected to pay more than double the state’s average wage.
Blue Horseshoe was founded in 2001 and supplies software solutions in areas such as warehousing, supply chain and distribution. Its products are used in industries including transportation, oil and gas, food and beverage and retail. The company has about 200 associates at its offices in Carmel, Denver, Charlotte, Columbus, Ohio and Amsterdam.
In a release from the IEDC, Blue Horseshoe President Chris Cason said, "In an industry like ours, we had choices among other cities and states, but we felt it was important to stay in Indiana, particularly Carmel, where we enjoy a strategic location, solid business environment and a quality of life that helps us attract and keep employees. In our business, we need to remain competitive and with the news we are announcing today, we feel we can continue to grow and succeed."
The company plans to begin hiring software consultants and developers in the next two months.
The IEDC has offered Blue Horseshoe up to $1.2 million in conditional tax credits and training grants based on the job creation plans. The city of Carmel will consider additional incentives.
Cason says central Indiana’s tech work force “has come a long way.”
