IDOE Announces Latest ‘Promising Practices’
The Indiana Department of Education has recognized 19 schools to be added to its Promising Practices initiative. The project will ultimately feature 200 student-centered programs that provide a promising learning environment as a way to celebrate Indiana’s bicentennial.
The IDOE announced the first ten Promising Practices last month. New programs will be added to the list each month throughout the year. In an interview on Inside INdiana Business Television, Indiana Superintendent of Public Instruction Glenda Ritz said the goal is to highlight best practices so other schools can use them as a model.
"We want to spread the word," said Ritz. "We want to say ‘Hey, contact this school if you want to find out more about it.’ We want parents to know. We really want to advertise that we got some great things going on in our schools."
